截至2018年的10年中，新加坡海峽時(shí)報(bào)指數(shù)(STI)的年化總回報(bào)率為9.2%。在此期間的所有海指成分股總回報(bào)率均錄得正值。

10年來，錄得最高回報(bào)的現(xiàn)有STI成分股為創(chuàng)業(yè)公司、新翔集團(tuán)及怡和合發(fā)。這三只股票代表不同行業(yè)，且年化總回報(bào)率相似，平均為18.5%，其他表現(xiàn)強(qiáng)勁的現(xiàn)有STI成分股是凱德商務(wù)產(chǎn)業(yè)信托和泰國釀酒。

以非年化標(biāo)準(zhǔn)來看，從2008年底到2018年底，STI的總回報(bào)率為140.5%。如果不進(jìn)行股息再投資，10年來STI的年化回報(bào)率將為5.7%。股息在年化回報(bào)中發(fā)揮了關(guān)鍵作用。

截至2018年的10年中，新加坡海峽時(shí)報(bào)指數(shù)年化總回報(bào)率為9.2%，比亞太地區(qū)基準(zhǔn)指數(shù)高出五分之一，與富時(shí)東盟40指數(shù)水平相當(dāng)，在其他區(qū)域市場(chǎng)中也處于領(lǐng)先地位。

根據(jù)世界銀行統(tǒng)計(jì)，2008年金融危機(jī)之后，全球經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)在2009年出現(xiàn)下滑，并于2010年有所恢復(fù)，此后增速每年保持在2.5%以上。在過去的10年中，主要市場(chǎng)驅(qū)動(dòng)力已逐漸從央行用于刺激經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)的擴(kuò)張性特殊措施轉(zhuǎn)變?yōu)檎晤I(lǐng)導(dǎo)人重新評(píng)估國際模式，以重塑貿(mào)易相關(guān)的增長(zhǎng)。
